Painted Ladies, Casablanca & Hutch's (more ice cream)

Thanks to @SecretsofOntario for posting the pic of The Painted Ladies of Grimsby This was the inspiration for our Saturday trip to Grimsby. These houses were amazing to photograph and to just enjoy all the details that went into them. Please remember to respect the homeowners/community and their property ...

We found it easier to walk around, than drive - only 1.33k, including a walk down to the Grimsby Beach which wasn't that nice in our opinion. Casablanca beach is a lot nicer. See more below ...

If you want to live here, there's a cottage for sale - 23 VICTORIA Terrace $999,000 (3 bedrooms, 2 baths)

Good things to know:

- Grimsby, approx 50 mins from Etobicoke (Bartlett Ave Exit)

- Parking: we parked on Park Rd N. Next, we headed to Casablanca Beach (10 mins back on the QEW) This beach was a lot nicer & not busy. Surprising, as it was Saturday afternoon & 30+.

We took the Grimsby on the Lake Path (1.8k return) and discovered Lang on the Water and had some really yummy Vietnamese food on their patio. We were there around 3:30 pm and it was fairly quiet. But, the server said it was unusual.

Chef Jeff Rating:

Shrimp & Pork Deep-fried Wonton 8/10

Shrimp & Pork Fresh Rolls 7/10

Pad Thai - Shrimp & Chicken 8/10 *slightly on the spicy side Good things to know:

- there's a parking lot just off of Winston Rd (Exit 74 - Casablanca Blvd)

- All Trails (website or APP) is great for researching where we go and keeps us from getting lost

It wouldn't be a day of exploring, without some ice cream. So, we headed to one of our fav places: Hutch's on the Beach (Confederation Park, Hamilton) for some of our FAV ice cream: London Ice Cream Company!

Good things to know:

- ice cream door is back on the beach side entrance

- they also have amazing burgers & fries

- lots of parking

- Hutch's is worth the drive all by itself - take a stroll along the Hamilton Waterfront Trail

Not recommended: Forty-Mile Creek Park

Not recommended, unless you are a history buff - lots of War of 1812 markers. The bridge along the path is closed off for repair so we had to turn around and come back. Would have been nice if there was a warning at the beginning of th

Future Trip ideas:

We were really close to Fifty Point Conservation Area which has one of the nicest beaches we've been to in Ontario. Entry fee was $20 (car, plus 2 people) but it was worth it because they limit capacity (Jul 2020):

Hope this inspires you to go out and explore.

Until next time, Diana & Jeffy
