Ontario Place, Icebergs & Doughnuts

Yes, there are icebergs, right now, at Ontario Place! And, yes, you can still go there! Join us on our 6k walk from Coronation Park, through Inukshuk Park & Trillium Park, along the William G. Davis Trail which winds through Ontario Place. Then, we treat ourselves to some amazing doughnuts from Daddy's O's.

Read on for more info on all the fun stuff to do @ Ontario Place: fire pits, drive-in, paddleboat rentals, skate park, ice bergs (Over Floe) and the Wigwam Chi-Chemung floating art installation.

We parked on Remembrance Drive in Coronation Park - less expensive than parking @ Ontario Place Green P Parking $1/hour - does not have the Sun free parking til 1pm exemption

Trillium Park / William G. Davis Trail

We were impressed that the map is in braille. Much cooler to walk by the waterfront during these heat waves (about 5 degrees cooler). Glad we went early for our walk (8 am), was a lot busier by 10 am.

There's still so much to do & see at Ontario Place ... You can book Fire Pits - what a view!

The Wigwam Chi-Chemung floating art installation is here til October 17 * the last 2 pics are not part of the installation

And you can see icebergs at the inner lagoon -> Over Floe, a sculpture installation by Toronto Artist John Notten. An initiative of ArtWorxTO: Toronto’s Year of Public Art is here until the Fall

Really missing concerts @ Budweiser Stage, but you can go to the Drive-In. The Lavazza International Drive-In Festival is happening now: June 27 – July 17

Social Distancing - there are still social distancing squares in the West Commons. Hope this means some outdoor summer events will be happening this summer - especially a food festival!

If you get hungry, there's Vista Eatery & Fork in the Road (not sure if open)

Sunken Ships Promenade The pier by the West Marina is the length of 3 freighters - click link for more info

Other good things to know:

- lots of washrooms avail throughout Ontario Place

After our walk, we drove to Mississauga (Cawthra & QEW) to a place we've been wanting to try for awhile -> Daddy O's Doughnuts There was a line, but we walked out with our donuts in 20 mins - only 2 people allowed at a time (Phase 1) - might be more now that we are in Phase 2.

They also have British Baked Goods - hence the spelling of doughnuts.

Chef Jeff Rating - yes, we even rate the donuts ;)

Deep PB Cup - 9/10

After Eight - 7/10

I Want S'More - 8/10

Was hard to walk out with only 3 doughnuts!

Texture was more spongy, which Jeff liked. Hope this inspires you to go out and explore.

Until next time, Diana & Jeffy
