In the City -> Movie, Lakefront Stroll & more Ice Cream

We LOVE living in Toronto because there's so much to see & do! We stayed closer to home this weekend to explore. One of the things we have missed most during COVID, besides friends & family, is going to the movies! With Phase 3, movie theatres are finally open, and we went to see Black Widow - VIP.

Cineplex is booking seats with physical distancing, and masks are required, except when eating or drinking, so we felt fairly safe, even though it was indoors.

When you arrive, there is a QR code to scan and check in. The concession was open, and VIP has in-seat ordering. There's a QR code @ the seat to order.

We had a 4 seat radius of empty seats all around us.

The movie was awesome, and we enjoyed the movie popcorn with a margarita! Nice to be back! Can't wait to see more movies ...

There are so many pretty parks to explore along the Toronto Waterfront, but our fav park in the GTA is the Lakefront Promenade in Mississauga (Lakeshore & Cawthra). It's about 5º cooler by the lake, so it's a nice place to walk when it's hot.

There's also a nice path along the waterfront from the splash pad through the marina. Or at the boat launch towards the Lighthouse (not accessible). Shorter walks, but very pretty.

If you want a longer walk, follow the Waterfront Trail west from the park past Derry House to the Adamson Estate. (approx 7 mins). It's waterfront & picturesque.

Good things to know: - we park at the AE Crookes Park, as there's more parking available there than at the R.K. McMillan Park. Lots of parking at the Lakefront Promenade Park.

If you are in the area on a Sunday morning, make sure to stop in at the Lakeview Farmers' Market @ the Small Arms Inspection Building (10:00 am to 2:00 pm)

You can take the Waterfront Trail from here to Marie Curtis Park or explore the Arsenal Lands, which the TRCA redeveloped for habitat protection & regeneration. Check out the overgrown baffles and old water tower.

Jul 18th is National Ice Cream Day, and you know how much I LOVE ice cream, so we went to TWO places on Queen West to celebrate! Both make Hand-crafted Premium Ice Cream ...

ICE CREAMONOLOGY - we shared their Blueberry & White Chocolate Cheesecake ice cream and Mango & Raspberry Sorbet - yummy!

Knockout Ice Cream Collective just opened a 2nd location in the Ready Go Convenience @ 1153 Queen St. W., and we wanted to check it out. Their ice cream did not disappoint - our only problem was picking only 2 flavours. So we shared their Vietnamese Coffee Crisp & Nutella Saltine ice cream made with SkyFlake Saltine Crackers, a Filipino favourite.

They're also @ The Annex Food Hall (384 Bloor St W.) West of Bloor & Spadina

Hope this inspires you to go out and explore.

Until next time, Diana & Jeffy #adventureswithDianaandJeff
